Consul General YOSHIOKA Yuzo arrived in Portland in March 20 2023, having served as Senior Deputy Director of Record Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) for the previous two years. Prior to that, he served as Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Japan in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Consul General Yoshioka was born in Saitama Prefecture and his career with MOFA has taken him to Calgary, Canada, and three separate stints to Warsaw, Poland, to Krakow, and to Lodz, Poland. In this country he has been assigned to the Consulate in Boston, and his post in Portland sees him return to the United States after 23 years of service around the world.
