Marta Guembes Herrera has served as the Honorary Vice Consul and Consul of Guatemala in the State of Oregon for the past 20+ years. She is a longtime community health worker, leader, and advocate in the Portland Metropolitan area and is currently part of the Latino Advisory Board for the Portland Police Bureau.
Born to a Guatemalan mother and a Salavadorian father, Marta has called the city of Portland her home for the past 30+ years where she has raised all of her children. Marta’s passion in life is to serve the humanitarian rights of all Latinos in her community and surrounding areas. She is dedicated to continue helping families in need with educational resources and educational rights.
