Brian Doherty has spent the last 40+ years with the Law firm of Miller Nash LLP. Brian’s legal areas of expertise include employment, OSHA and government law. He represents national and international clients before local and state agencies, legislators, city, county and state political leaders on issues relating to energy, environment, tax, transportation and land use. As a result, Brian has helped draft and amend numerous state statutes and assisted in enacting, defeating or modifying dozens of legislative and regulatory proposals.

Brian spent a year in Ireland, attending school. That experience grew into a life-long interest in all things Irish. In 2017, he was asked to represent the Ireland before the Oregon Legislature relating to taxation legislation. He continues to represent Ireland in Oregon and maintains a close relationship with the Irish Consulate General in San Francisco as well as Enterprise Ireland in Seattle and IDA Ireland. He assists these Irish government entities in developing two way trade and investment links between Ireland and the Pacific Northwest.

The Consulate General in San Francisco works to promote and protect Irish interests in the Pacific Northwest, whether it is working with the local Irish community, promoting Irish culture, arts and economic interests, supporting the strong partnership between Ireland and the states of the Pacific Northwest, or helping Irish citizens in difficulty. The Consulate also provides a range of key consular services: processing passport and visa applications, authenticating documents, providing information on travelling to or living and working in Ireland, and much more.
